Don't know why a non JW would care. I've never been hassled but I have not told many I post here. I did say who I was on this site but if you read hear why would you judge those that post?

Do you get hassled for posting here frequently?
by sabastious inmost people in my life that know how frequent i post on this forum find it very troubling.
i have often been accused of "not being able to let go.
" i don't agree that i post here because i'm not willing to let go, i think i post here because i think this place helps other people and i want to be part of it.

A lightning fast POLL: Two questions about CONVERSION

This is the anniversary of when we drew the line in the sand
by nugget intoday is my daughter's 11th birthday and she is super excited.
and today i baked her a boston blackout cake just as i did last year.
the smell of it baking reminded me that this was when we made our first stand for our children and was a significant step as we exited.

Are JWs the worst restaurant customers?
by Alfred in(a little background info before i ask my question...).
my sister-in-law (non-jw), who manages a popular chain restaurant near a kingdom hall, just found out that my wife and i have recently faded, so she decided to get something off her chest the other day... you guessed it: she wanted us to know that jws are the worst customers ever!
she then told us some really embarrassing stories about how jws would request a table for 15 to 20 people (after a sunday meeting) and then (when the bill came) some of the jws would start deliberating amongst themselves on whether or not the waiter was diligent or not (to justify the low tip he was getting anyway).

I've seen and been both. When I was poooor pioneer I was a bad tipper. After I grew up and got a decent job I always tipped 20% or more. My thought was the tip was part of the price of the meal if I couldn't pay for it don't get it. I know one JW that ONLY gave 5$ regardless of what the bill was. If I was out with him I always gave a lot more to make up for it. My EX MIL was a witch when she went out. She would demand everything her way always sent the meal back... I'm sure she had her share of meals that were spit on. She tipped well but was not worth it. I never enjoyed the big group JW meals. It always seemed loud?

1. most of you seem to be pretty satisfied that you left the the witness world but now that your gone what drives you now?
what makes you excited about life?

1 What drives me now? LIFE! I feel so privledged to enjoy life the way God intended us to. I am going back to school, developing friendships, I have a job I love, enjoying a happy marriage and learning and playing as much as I can
2- Why post here. As great as my 1st answer sounds reality is it is a work in progress. I have BAD days and REALY BAD days. Growing up in the cult, not leaving till I was 32 , left a 13 year bad marriage. I lost all my friends, my community, sence of being and worse of all my Brother and his young family. I learn here and if I think I have something to say or just need to purge I do. I feel if I write something even i it is not that nice, someone here understands.
3 - I believe in God, not because I feel there is undisputed proof but just because I want to. I feel more spiritual and at peace then ever!

crazy jw ex wife shoots herself in the foot, again
by Aussie Oz inyou would think she would learn.. but being the vindictive bitter woman she has alowed herself to become, i guess she can't.. last time she threatened me with less visitation and told me to get a lawyer, she lost big time and had to concede much compared to what she wanted to take away.. this time she 'dobs' me into the child support angency for being in arrears and not paying the correct amount.
both not true as i have signed delivery of all payments and i actually pay her a little more than i have to.
but the foot shooting is that by making a request to the csa to collect the money from now on, they have to review the case and based on the more time my daughter gets since april last year they say they will reduce the amount... on top of that i can have my sons case closed now as he is fulltime employed which would futher reduce the amount i pay.

I agree with Black Sheep. If you want to save money for your son you can just keep it under your control. You could even tell the EX you are puttig $ away for his education or something like that... just my opinion. This does sound funny your EX is being hurtful to you and she gets the short end! You just can't fix stupid

I agree! cult thinking is black and white. add that to abusive parents and anyone would need years of therapy. You seem to be healing well, best wishes and keep up the good work! You are not alone in your thinking. I think we have all needed to make major changes to get the cult mind thinking out of us
